"Moving Made Easy"
Text DOLLY to 85100 for Newsletters
I was new to the moving industry as a whole when I started Man and Dolly so I had to be a student to the process and learn quickly so I can generate a reputation! This was also my first business being a Solo-Entrepreneur, the last company I had a Partner. Here are some of the lessons I've learned:
Being prepared is one of my favorite and most effective life skills, in moving I'll do this by checking and getting what equipment I'll need for the day/week ahead. In life, I prepare by writing a to do list the day before so I'm mentally prepared and I have a goal.
Being a student is something that has single handedly accelerated my learning and development in anything I decide to learn and grow in! For the business it allowed me to develop skills quick and have been able to live off this business for about 6 years alone. Outside of it, being a student has allowed me to do many things from learning Marketing for the business, video editing, how to build a website, manage a team, develop systems and much more and I'm able to learn these things from first hand, second hand, and even from imagining what it'll be like to perform whatever it is.
Self-Awareness is my favorite and really effects and accelerates my growth and development as a whole in life and business and has helped in developing communication skills dramatically!
I understand that my original verbiage my sound bad especially in the world of moving but it's the only way I can think to describe this ability. There are so many thing to learn in the moving industry and process and there are ways to do everything but I've found that there's always a more effective/efficient way of doing things. Whether it's maneuvering furniture or something as simple as how to fold clothes or make your bed and of course with more important things like your work.
Patience and Persistence is paramount in life and business, you never know how much you have until you move, the same applies with life...you never know how hard a goal, task, or job will be until you get started. As you get started it's important to pace yourself mentally, and when it calls for it, physically, after all you have one body so it's important to take care of your physical so you don't hinder your mental.
I'd like to encourage you all to do things as you go through different challenges with a attitude of greatness in all area!
